If islam is indeed a Religion of Peace, then why are there so many islamic organizations that abet terrorism?

Because the Koran repeatedly says to convert or kill those that are not Muslims. Just like the Bible says to kill anyone worshiping another God. Fortunately most Christians don't practice this anymore.
